Usage / Dosage:
(injection)
Convulsions due to hypomagnesemia: 1 ~ 2 g of magnesium sulfate by intravenous injection (4.05 ~ 8.1 mmol).
Seizures of eclampsia: 4 ~ 5 g of this drug by intravenous injection for 10 minutes (16.2 ~ 20.25 mmol)
Prevention of uterine rigidity: The initial 4 g of this drug is administered intravenously (16.2 mmol). Thereafter, 1 g may be administered.
Electrolyte supply (hypomagnesemia): 1 g of this drug is injected intramuscularly 4 times every 6 hours. Alternatively, 5 g of this drug can be added to a 5% glucose injection solution or 0.9% physiological saline solution and administered intravenously for 3 hours. In the treatment of deficiency, the renal excretory function of the patient should be carefully monitored.
Children: The safety of this drug has not been tested.
